High Frequency Coffee

Taking your coffee to the next level. Superfood Coffee is a blend of healthy fats, herbs, mushrooms, spices and adaptogens to jumpstart your day. It's been my absolute favorite new ritual and has dramatically improved my energy, skin quality and mood. I'll walk you through the process and ingredients I use to maximize your morning moment. 

I'll start by saying that I eat a very intuitive diet; while it's mostly plant based, I live at 6,600 ft elevation and have an ultra active lifestyle. Therefore, I supplement with extra, extra fats and collagen to keep my skin hydrated and my body moving during the brutal winter season. You can adapt this recipe to fit your needs and modify it based off what you think your body is asking for. 

The coffee: literally no better beans exist than Canyon Coffee. I make my brew in a french press. After it's finished brewing, I'll pour it into a big mason jar so I can more easily blend all the ingredients with a milk foamer. The key to the success of this recipe is either blending all the ingredients in a blender, or better yet, using a hand held milk frother

The ingredients:

Laird's Tumeric Creamer- Tumeric has long been praised for it's anti-inflammatory benefits. Coupled with fats from coconut milk and red palm oil, this is going to help brain function and make your coffee taste AMAZING. It's an excellent substitute for cream. Bonus: you can also froth it with warm coconut milk and you have instant golden milk. 

Grassfed Ghee (or grassfed butter)- Your brain is 66.6% FAT therefore eating a balanced and healthy amount of fats is crucial to healing, creating new neural pathways and focus. 

Raw Honey- honey has so many healing properties; where do I start?! Buy as local and as raw as possible. If you have allergies, I promise eating honey from your local bee friends will help. Substitute a dash of maple syrup if you're vegan!

The Daily Hit- This stuff deserves a post all for it's own. Powerful cannabinoid + adaptogenic herbs will change. your. life. Cannabinoids attach directly to receptors in your brain. It calms inflammation and helps ease the autonomic nervous system to relax the fight or flight response so many people live in. Go read all about the other herbs and properties. Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides- Oh man, I LOVE this stuff. Two scoops and you get 18 grams of easily digested protein and tons of amino acids. This stuff is going to help your skin regenerate, your hair grow long, and create healthy new cells. Also excellent for repairing IBS or gastrointestinal issues.

MCT Oil- Fats, fats, fats! My body burns fat by eating fats. If I go skiing for 4 hours, I could burn up to 2,000 calories or more. I need all the lubrication I can get for keeping my joints supple and my brain focused. Also a great substitute for ghee and butter if you are vegan!

The recipe: 

1 heaping tbs Anandamide

1 heaping tbs Tumeric Creamer

1 tbs ghee or butter

1/2 tbs honey

2 tsp The Daily Hit

2 scoops collagen

1/2 tbs mct oil
